Rheostat Control allows variable heat for the Lectro-Kennel heat pad (see item
LE100). Provides a heat range of 70°-102°F. The rheostat is necessary if being used for a litter of puppies due to the need to carefully control their temperature. Ideally for household use only. If temperature is between 100°F-104°F, the rheostat will reduce the temperature for newborns or any animal who cannot move off the pad if it gets too warm.

Turn knob clockwise to the high position; this allows the full current to reach the heating element. The low wattage element will take approximately four hours to reach maximum heat. At that time, test the warmth by placing your hand atop the pad. Now turn the knob counter-clockwise one marker (or less) at a time, testing the warmth at one-half hour intervals (or longer) until you are satisfied with the warmth.
