The compact 1.8 HP model features:

Instruction Document says no internal mechanical maintenance is required and not to disassemble the dryer motor at any time. This does not refer to upkeep. The carbon brushes must be replaced when needed or the motor will be damaged, and removing and replacing carbon brushes does not require disassembling the motor, they are attached to the exterior of the motor, inside the outer housing.
Regular replacement of carbon brushes (TP8298) is required when they are worn to half their original length. These carbon brushes fit all Blue Force Hi Velocity dryer models and ages. See instructions on carbon brushes for use. We recommend always keeping a new set available for comparison.
