Use KMR Milk Replacer for hand-feeding orphaned and rejected kittens. Contains three highly digestible sources of protein. It is a very stable product, much like baby cereal. Great food supplement for queens during lactation and pregnancy. Powder form dilutes 2:1. Milk Replacer is also available in liquid form (see item #BO323).
Mixing directions: One part powder to two parts water. Once mixed, it will last in the refrigerator for one month. It can be frozen (ice cube trays are recommended) for up to three months. For orphaned kittens, feed 2 tbsp of warm mixed liquid per 4 oz of body weight. The daily feeding rate should be divided into equal portions for each feeding. Weigh the kitten three times a week to assure adequate feeding. As a food supplement, mix the powder into the daily ration at the rate of 1 tbsp per 5 lbs of body weight. For pregnant or lactating queens, mix the liquid into the daily ration at the rate of two tablespoons per 5 lbs of body weight until two weeks after queening.
Unopened product has a shelf life of two years from date of manufacture. Once package is opened, store in airtight container to prevent contamination. There is no need to refrigerate or freeze dry product, unless doing so is desired to keep it fresher. Once mixed with liquid, it should be used within 2-3 hours, and any remainder should be disposed of.
