Instructions for de-matting:
Begin by applying a detangling aid, such as Top Performance® GloCoat™ to the animal's coat. This will help break the static lock of any mats, making it easier for the rake to pick through the mat without damaging the coat.

Start grooming at the rear of the animal, to allow the pet to become accustomed to being brushed before working toward the head. The unique pin layout is ideal for detangling loose mats in hard-to-reach areas like armpits, the harness zone, and behind ears. Hold the mat in one hand and starting at the tip gently pick the rake through working towards the root loosening the mat until it can be brushed out.

Instructions for de-shedding:
Beginning at the rear of the animal and working forward towards the head, part a section of fur exposing the skin. Line or layer brush to remove any packed undercoat by lifting and brushing the sections of fur down removing undercoat as you move forward. Caution: Do not scrape the animal’s skin with the pins.

Recommended for the following breeds, as well as breeds with similar coats: Unclipped Spaniels, Golden Retriever, Yorkshire Terrier, Afghan Hound, Setter, Samoyed, Newfoundland, Shiba Inu, Border Collie, and Cats.
